Today Chloe celebrated turning 13. She had requested a proper tea party with a purple and green theme.

Eight well dressed young ladies, lots of giggles, cake, pots of tea and sandwiches later, it was declared a success.

We had a hat decorating session when everyone arrived, after which we played another game. Chloe opened some lovely gifts and then it was onto the eating. Everyone seemed to enjoy the tea party. One girl declaring she was in heaven as 'the spread looked so beautiful'.

A Serious Face for a Serious Job

The boys took their job of butler very seriously. It created a fun atmosphere and everyone got into the party mode very quickly. We wondered if we had created a problem for ourselves. The girls loved it so much they may want 'tea with a butler' every day. :) Jarred is wearing the sunglasses at the request of one of the young ladies who said he looks like someone out of 'Men in Black'. He earned the nickname 'shades' by the end of the party.

Chloe had a wonderful time too. She absolutely loves all things 'cupcake' which made the choice of a giant one for the birthday cake fairly obvious.

We held it early as school breaks up on Wednesday and her friends are all leaving kingdom for the Christmas break. Which meant no one was going to be here. With Christmas being so close to her birthday as well it seemed better to have it now.

All in all it was a fun , if exhausting :) day.

Do you like the new header image?

It's almost that time again.

V8 Supercars

The rumble in the desert is about to happen. Desert 400

The V8's tour Bahrain each year as part of their circuit. This has been a great way to introduce the children to a little bit of Australia out here.

They usually have all sorts of 'Australiana' type things going on. Last year it was giant cricket. The year before they had kangaroos on jumping stilts. Who knows what they will come up with this year.

They also have activities and rides for the children to enjoy.

You get to do a pit walk, meet the drivers and enjoy what is usually a couple of exciting races. The atmosphere is exciting and the noise level pretty loud.

Add in a couple of Aussie pies which are always on the menu…and you have a wonderful day out for everyone.

Not sure if we are going this year?

During our trip to Detroit we had the opportunity to drive through St Louis. Of course we had to stop. Our first view of the mighty Mississippi demanded it.

We also got to see this.

To read more about it check out this post on the 22nd of July

I am changing server sometime this week and there are some things that need tweaking on the site. If it looks funny or disappears for a while- it should be back up soon.
